Our Partners

Sport can cut across barriers that divide societies, making it a powerful tool to support conflict prevention, peace building and community building efforts, both symbolically on the global level and very practically within local communities. When applied effectively, sport programs promote social integration and foster tolerance, helping to reduce tension and generate dialogue.

The convening power of sport make is additionally compelling as a tool for advocacy and communications. Organisations the size of Sport Matters cannot do this alone and relies on sound partnerships to be able to contribute to the greater ideals. Partnership selection and relationship maintenance are a priority for Sport Matters.

Sport Matters collaborates with a range of community, government, non-government and corporate partners to deliver activities and services in target communities in Australia, the Pacific, Asia and Africa. We seek partners that share our belief in the power of sport, our core values across aid and development, and our vision for sustainable change through sport.

Sport Matters aims to establish lasting relationships with partner organisations in the delivery of effective sport for development programs and we seek multi-year commitments with a view to creating sustainable social change that is owned and driven by local communities.

If this approach also matches the values of your organisation then please contact the Sport Matters team at info@sportmatters.org.au to explore new possibilities in sport for development.
