Our Impact
Sport Matters was founded in 2011 with the aim to make a positive and long-lasting impact on development in Australia and developing countries with a focus on the Pacific, Asia and Africa. We develop lasting relationships to create sustainable change for organisations, for communities and for individuals.
Monitoring, evaluation and learning is critical to our development approach and the Sport Matters Scorecard is a tool that we use to measure our effectiveness. Our board regularly reviews our organisation’s effectiveness and our project management cycle also captures the voices of our beneficiaries and in-country partners to help measure the effectiveness of our sport for development programs.
Sport Matters received an ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award at Parliament House in Canberra recognising the 2014 Wheelout in the Capital event, and in 2018 our Shuttle Time Connect exchange project for primary school students between Nepal and Australia was recognised with a Peace and Sport Award in Monaco.
