Our Events

Sport Matters hosts events in Australia and around the world together with local partner organisations and our events focus on advocacy for sport for development or building capacity within the sector.

Our events have included, for example, two international conferences in Canberra and Brisbane, a high-level breakfast at Parliament House in Canberra, international photo competitions, a forum on sport and human rights in Fiji, and celebrations for international women’s day in Nepal and Bangladesh.

Events can be powerful spaces to advocate key development messages and form an important part of our development approach. Sport Matters is always on the lookout for new event partners so contact our team if you are keen to explore new opportunities to work together on special events.
