Sport Matters has developed a new Sport Matters Scorecard series to measure development effectiveness. The Sport Matters scorecard is an evidence-based tool designed to assist the Board in tracking the organisation’s progress in core policy commitments such as gender equity and disability inclusion.
The development effective framework echoes policy commitments in several Sport Matters policies including Child Protection, Disability, Gender Equity, Human Rights, Partnership, Transparency and Feedback. The development of the Sport Matters Scorecard is also in line with our progressive compliance with the Australian Council for International Development’s (ACFID) Code of Conduct.
Sport Matters Chair, Christine Walton, is pleased with the introduction of the Sport Matters Scorecard approach to development effectiveness. Speaking at the final board meeting for 2020 she said, “The development of our Sport Matters Scorecard is a significant milestone for the organisation and something the board has worked hard on developing to assist with our regular compliance, reporting and tracking of progress across core areas of development practice. We look forward to expanding this tool to its next phase to provide further data and inputs for the board to consider on a regular basis.”
The first phase of the Sport Matters Scorecard has a focus on disability and gender and the second phase in 2021 will expand to incorporate measures for human rights, partnerships, child protection and safeguarding.
